Jeptha Evans has become an advisor to the International College of American Nursing (ICAN). ICAN was founded by Munira and Shabbir Nomanbhoy to address two problems: the severe nursing shortage in the United States, and the lack of opportunity for the college-educated workforce in Munira’s country of birth, Sri Lanka. The founders of ICAN recognized that these two problems could be addressed simultaneously by re-training out of work women graduates in Sri Lanka to work as nurses in the U.S. The ICAN team has worked with business, education and health care professionals, as well as government officials in both the United States and Sri Lanka to establish the International College of American Nursing in Sri Lanka. Mr. Evans is proud to join ICAN’s efforts to help women and contribute to addressing the global shortage of nurses. For more information about ICAN, click here.
